It is well built and very enjoyable to assemble. No glue was needed; all the parts fit well. Unfortunately mine did not come with any instructions. I’m thinking I may have gotten a previously returned item based on the look of it however I did not want to go through the hassle of returning so I was able to figure out how to assemble on my own which was pretty easy. The lock on this is horrible. It sometimes won't let you lock it back, which is what it's doing to me right now. My German shepherd / lab mix caught on very quickly. We baited the pad with a dot of peanut butter, then when she licked it and rang the bell, stuffed her outside. Within a week she was using the bell by herself consistently. In 3 months, ringing the bell for attention, which she will still do sometimes but we always make her go out the door if she rings the bell. I am loving these house slippers. It just started getting cold and they keep my feet nice and warm and they fit just right. I feel like I'm walking on a cloud and there is decent padding on the sole.
